«Sing Sing. Il corpo di Pompei» è la mostra di Luigi Spina che si tiene nel Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli dal 21 gennaio al 30 giugno. L’evento, in programma nel 2020 e rinviato a causa della pandemia, porta cinquanta fotografie in bianco e nero nelle sale della Villa dei Papiri svelando al pubblico un luogo segreto, il deposito del museo, il forziere che contiene i reperti catalogati e non visibili delle città vesuviane di Ercolano e Pompei.

La mostra “L’istante e l’eternità. Tra noi e gli antichi”, attraverso circa 300 pezzi eccezionali tra opere greche, romane, etrusche e italiche, medievali, moderne e contemporanee, esplora in modi inaspettati e spettacolari il rapporto complesso e variegato che noi intratteniamo con gli antichi.

Freud’s Antiquity: Object, Idea, Desire.

Freud’s study at 20 Maresfield Gardens contains a vast array of figurines, books and artwork that either originate from, or are inspired by, the ancient world. He was a compulsive collector of antiquities, which according to the poet H.D. were intimately bound up with his development of the concepts and methods of psychoanalysis; they helped to ‘stabilise the evanescent thought’ that was continually at risk of dissipation. However, in the institutionalisation of Freudian theory this rich and vital source of inspiration was neglected; we tend to be presented with a version of Freud the theorist as distinct from Freud the collector.
