La ‘guerra’ contro il virus e il topos della guerra giusta contro gli animali: una riflessione eco-critica attraverso il pensiero filosofico dei Greci
As many eco-critics are pointing out over the last few days, there is an intimate link between the SARS CoV-2 epidemic and the state of the human-animal relationship within the global order imposed by 20th and 21st Century Neoliberalism. In this connection, this paper will explore the topos of the ‘just war against animals’ in a comparatist perspective, to show how ancient philosophical thought, far from stressing the idea of the supremacy of the human species, is instead used to underline our in-born frailty as well as our interconnectedness with other living beings.
