Dell’impossibilità di andare oltre (e dell’Antropocene): fragilità dei corpi e dei limiti nelle Metamorfosi di Ovidio
Abstract
In Ovid’s Metamorphoses, the boundaries between species are loose and unstable. Consequently, animals and humans are contiguous, and living beings are thought of as mere ‘garments’ worn by the underlying Chaos into which the world repeatedly falls. In this connection, Ovid’s poem might be a valuable text to reflect on some aspects of the proposed geological epoch of ‘Anthropocene’ and the consequences of human protagonism on Earth’s ecosystems.
